STARFIRE, HUS-SKI, BLIZZARD AND POLARIS: ALL ARE WINNERS IN THE 2010 TIRED IRON

The Tired Iron proved to be one heck of an event! All these amazing vintage snow machines made it downtown for a weekend filled with racing, nostalgia and good old fashioned fun. The 2010 Classic first place winner was David Weaver on a 1972 Polaris Starfire 650. The winner of the Jurassic Classic was Michael Gonzales on a 1964 Hus-Ski 200A. The 2010 Wet Iron went to Robin Stenvik on a 1979 Ski-Doo Blizzard 340, and the 2010 Fun Run Race was won by Greg Peede on a 1971 Polaris TX 335.

There were a number of other “Noteworthy Awards” that were given out, including; the “Most Obnoxious Sled”, that went to Michael Soucie on a 1968 Rupp GTX 340; the “Oldest Sled” award that went to Jeff Simmons on his 1961 Bombadier Ski-Doo; and the “Oldest Driver” award that went to Ray Mackler on a 1975 Ski-Doo Elan. Ray, at 88 years young, was two and one half times older than the vintage snow machine he was riding, very cool… excellent job Ray!

Hat’s off to the great group of still running vintage snow machines and their resilient riders, evoking the memories of years past and making new memories for 2010. Thank you all for coming downtown!
