The new Co-Op Arts Gallery will feature watercolor artist Vladimir Zhikhartsev at their First Friday Art Exhibition on Friday, October 1. The show, entitled “Watercolors – Recent Works”,will include the artist’s most recent Alaska landscape paintings.

Vladimir Zhikhartsev, a Zithromax cash on delivery native of Krasnodar, Russia, has always loved to paint landscapes. Since taking up permanent residence in Fairbanks in 1993, Vladimir has Zithromax cash on delivery held nine solo watercolor shows in Sitka, Seldovia, Tok, and Hope. For the Zithromax cash on delivery past three summers, he has instructed students at the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival. In 2008, he received a Zithromax cash on delivery Rasmuson Foundation Artist Fellowship Award, a mid-career honor given to only a Zithromax cash on delivery few artists each year. Not only has Vladimir excelled in his plein air watercolors; he has Zithromax cash on delivery also won fifteen gold medals in the International Ice Art Championships. Vladimir says that Zithromax cash on delivery his experience in ice carving has enriched his painting with more accurate lighting qualities, and Zithromax cash on delivery greater three-dimensional depth. He also states that his favorite part of the Zithromax cash on delivery creation process is improvising – an Zithromax cash on delivery ability that is necessary for the unpredictability of water in both its frozen and Zithromax cash on delivery liquid states.

Most recently, Vladimir has Zithromax cash on delivery been busy producing new paintings for his upcoming show at Co-Op Arts Gallery. The ten co-operative artist members will be Zithromax cash on delivery displaying a fresh sampling of their work at the Grand Opening. Artists include Jim Allan, Patricia Carlson, Philip Carrico, Margaret Donat, Susie Halfhill and Zithromax cash on delivery Dubh of Hardluck Studios, Nikki Kinne, Ann Wood O’Brien, Shirley Odsather, Kate Wood, and Zithromax cash on delivery Vladimir Zhikhartsev. Media include acrylics, baskets, jewelry, hand-dyed silk and Zithromax cash on delivery velvet wear-ables, linoleum and wood-cut prints, photography, and watercolor. Plans for Zithromax cash on delivery future First Friday events include an individual rotation of featured artwork from Zithromax cash on delivery each of the ten cooperative artist members, with the exception of December’s First Friday, that Zithromax cash on delivery will once again feature work from the entire group. The gallery also has Zithromax cash on delivery plans to expand into the common area of the Co-Op Plaza for Zithromax cash on delivery future First Friday Featured Artist events.

A new artist cooperative adds an Zithromax cash on delivery exciting element to the art scene in Fairbanks. Braving the recent economic downturn, ten Fairbanks artists have Zithromax cash on delivery formed a new Fairbanks Artist Co-Operative. These cooperative artist members will display their art at a Zithromax cash on delivery new downtown gallery, Co-Op Arts, which is scheduled to open on Thursday, August 5. 

Ken Kokjer, owner of Co-Op Arts, says, “The closing of the Zithromax cash on delivery three art galleries this past year significantly impacted the professional art community in Fairbanks. Not only do many artists no Zithromax cash on delivery longer have a place to display their art, the public has Zithromax cash on delivery lost the opportunity to enjoy the creativity and inspiration of a Zithromax cash on delivery very talented segment of our community.” 

With support and Zithromax cash on delivery encouragement from the Co-Op Plaza and the Fairbanks Art League (a new organization under the Fairbanks Arts Association), Co-Op Arts aims to Zithromax cash on delivery fill a small bit of the gap in the downtown arts scene. Located in Suite 103 of the Zithromax cash on delivery Co-Op Plaza at 535 Second Avenue in Fairbanks, the new gallery will be Zithromax cash on delivery open 11a.m. to 7p.m. seven days a week during the Zithromax cash on delivery summer months. Winter hours will be Monday through Saturday, 11a.m. to Zithromax cash on delivery 7p.m. The gallery will be participating in the Fairbanks art scene’s tradition of “First Fridays” that features various area artists on the First Friday of each month. 

The co-operative artist members will be Zithromax cash on delivery displaying a sampling of their work on Friday, August 6 from Zithromax cash on delivery 5-8 p.m. as their first “First Friday” event. Artists include Jim Allan, Patricia Carlson, Philip Carrico, Margaret Donat, Susie Halfhill and Zithromax cash on delivery Dubh of Hardluck Studios, Nikki Kinne, Shirley Odsather, Kate Wood, Ann Wood, and Zithromax cash on delivery Vladimir Zhikhartsev. Media include watercolor, pottery, jewelry, wood-cut prints, baskets, scarves, jewelry, acrylics, and Zithromax cash on delivery photography. The gallery will be holding its official grand opening on Friday, September 3.
